About The Photographer

Hi! My name is Erika Blackwell and I am the photographer of Center of Attention Photography. My business is located in Northern Michigan. My blog is a way for everyone to view some of my favorite images from recent sessions and get to know me! I am the VERY proud mommy to Braylan and Grayson. I LOVE what I do and I hope you can tell! These are not JUST pictures I take. I create memories... My heart and soul go into my work. I care about my clients and get to know them and learn what they like and dislike. I am a mommy & artist. I care about the ones I love like crazy, I love to have fun. I make crazy sounds to get those smiles. I dream big. I have tons of ideas. I cry during touching ceremonies and awesome reception speeches. I can usually be found smiling. I get inspired very easily. coaphoto.com 231.549.2038

WEDDING: Brittany + Eric

Wednesday, November 6th, 2013

So I couldn’t wait to do a full post from my best friends wedding. :) So many fun things surrounding the big day!
Britt and Eric met while attending Michigan and made lots of friends through their college years. You will see some fun pictures with them in this post! They were married in Glen Arbor, MI on the shore of Lake Michigan and they had a vintage theme. The reception was at the Glen Arbor Township Hall, just a few blocks from the ceremony location. The bride and groom led a parade from the ceremony to the hall! They also are both vegan so their menu was completely unique and the best food I’ve ever tasted at a wedding. AND I’ve been to a lot of them!

Location: Glen Arbor, MI
Lodging: The Homestead
Catering: BJs (vegan)
DJ: Rusch Entertainment
Hair and make up: Lilly Jade Salon
Vegan Cake: Catherine Warner
Videographer: Home Video Studio
Flowers: Cherry Hill Greenhouse

This is one of my best friend’s Britt and her husband Eric. On August 24th I stood up as a bridesmaid and partially photographed their wedding. I had a lot of help from my sister and a few others who attended the wedding (friends) that also grabbed a camera for some candids. I will do a full blog post on all the 2012 and 2013 weddings I photographed but I really wanted to share this one right now. I have 7 weeks until our new little guy is here and as always I play catch up. Super happy with how busy I have been over the last couple years and it will be nice if I can get to a point in my business to take a real break from work to spend time with my family.

You will notice the collage at the end if from their first look. I have to say it couldn’t have gone better and if you are thinking about doing first look also… I say DO IT! It saves time after the ceremony, relaxes nerves and is just simply fun. If you visit Castle Farms blog you will see a post I just was a part of about first looks.
