Hi! My name is Erika Blackwell and I am the photographer of Center of Attention Photography. My business is located in Northern Michigan. My blog is a way for everyone to view some of my favorite images from recent sessions and get to know me! I am the VERY proud mommy to Braylan. I LOVE what I do and I hope you can tell! These are not JUST pictures I take. I create memories... My heart and soul go into my work. I care about my clients and get to know them and learn what they like and dislike. I am an artist. A business woman. I love to have fun. I love to sing. Dance. Make crazy sounds to get those smiles. I am very open! I LOVE oreos and soymilk. I dream big. I have tons of ideas. I cry during touching ceremonies and awesome reception speeches. I try not to be messy but it happens. So these are our friends! I’ve been wanting so bad to photograph a horse in the snow… couldn’t have asked for a shoot to go better. Not to mention it was in 17 degree weather. I tried some new editing here as you will probably notice if you know my style. It’s so fun to try new things. I’m so excited for 2013!! I have so many goals for my business and family.
I had a fun mini session event with these three families in Indian River this summer. A super nice lady let us use her awesome yard and I was walking around with my mouth dropped open. It was so full of so many cool things I was having a blast.
I know I always say it… but it’s only because it’s TRUE… I love watching babies grow! I have been photographing this little man since he was in his mama’s belly. It’s the third session I have had with his parents and I have to say this one is my fave! We had to fight the wind and he did so great. Today his mom wrote she needs more wall space and it made my day. You probably can tell he loves to fly. 
It’s been a week since we got back from our family vacation to Florida. We stayed in St. Pete Beach and the weather was great. We had our ups and downs with a sick one year old… but he did his best. Hopefully it’s a stage but you will see his face in the pictures… he hates the water! Ocean… pools… even the bath in St. Pete. Here is a couple pics I had a chance to edit. I will post more when I get a chance to go through them. I am catching up editing and designing some albums and shooting a few sessions this week.
