Hi! My name is Erika and I am photographer of Center of Attention Photography. My blog is a way for everyone to view recent work and get to know me! I am the very proud mommy to Braylan. I have the most wonderful and supportive family and friends. I LOVE what I do and I hope you can tell!

This past month has gone by in the blink of an eye! My baby is growing soooo much each day. I’m trying to enjoy every second before I have to go back to work!
Changes will be happening when I return from maternity leave. I will only be accepting 3 photo shoots per week and 3 weddings per month. I will be extending my two week time frame for editing sessions to 2-3 weeks. Online viewing galleries will up for 30 days from the time they are uploaded and photos must be ordered or a CD will have to be purchased with 60 of the uploading date or they will no longer be available.
I’m back!! I have been MIA for a while… I have so many updates with photography and life!
Some of you know I was going to open a new studio space and was on a search to find or build the perfect place. After much thought I have decided to stay where I’m at until next year. My little studio still works for right now and if I’m going to have a fabulous studio I want time to create something amazing. PLUS…. my husband and I are expecting!! We are over the moon and can’t wait for December to come. I will also be taking maternity leave. I haven’t decided exact dates but I know December I will be off.
Wedding session in in full swing and I have been blessed to work with the most amazing brides and grooms. I have also been photographing lots of newborns. If you have read my blog before you know this is my very favorite!! They make me so happy and let me create such pieces or art!
Ok I’m going to start knocking out some blog posts….
This is Claire! She is an aspiring model and I was able to shoot her first portfolio pictures. Keep a look out for her in the future!
I’ve been working hard… but not on my blog! It takes a while to re-size, choose the pictures, and water mark every picture I post. I love looking at other people’s blog and can’t wait for them to update so I know my loyal readers probably are checking in and asking where the heck I am!
I have been really focused on my photography business since I’ve started. I always say it’s my life and it really is. It’s all I talk about… what props I need, how I want a huge studio with a specific things in it, about how cute the babies and kids I get to shoot are. I mean I always talk about what I do because I love it so much!

So I’m always talking about getting and making new props… if you’ve been to the studio you know I have a TON of stuff. Last summer I bought a super old children’s desk. I haven’t used it yet but I was some great ideas for spring. I absolutely love the the new vintage trend! I also love when little girls wear hair accessories! AND I love when people bring their own stuff too. I’m always looking for new and awesome ideas. So I just wanted to show some new headbands I made for the studio. If you look at a post of Eloise below you will see she has a purple one on.
So I was looking at a super awesome photographer’s blog… Stacy Reeves. I came across this pie chart and was like… wow. YES. I have been a photographer now since late 2005. I have struggled with explaining how much work I actually do because I’m not so great with explanations. Not only does this chart sum things up but to add a little in site… it’s not always fun. It’s not just about making pretty pictures. My husband and I have invested a ton of money into my business and I have spent countless hours making not as much much as some people think. My hourly wage would make you laugh… I don’t ONLY do it for the money. I really LOVE my job. Now the business aspect is a tough one. I’m an artist and I’m learning how to be a good business person. I just thought I would post this because it’s good for other people to see.
