About The Photographer
Hi! My name is Erika Blackwell and I am photographer of Center of Attention Photography. Located in Northern Michigan. My blog is a way for everyone to view some of my favorite images from recent sessions and get to know me! I am the very VERY proud mommy to Braylan. I LOVE what I do and I hope you can tell! These are not JUST take pictures I take. I create memories... I pour my heart into my work. I genuinely care about my clients and get to know them and learn what they like and dislike. I am an artist. A business woman. I love to have fun. I love to sing. Dance. Make crazy sounds to get those smiles. I am very open! I work into the night even though my son hates to sleep. I LOVE oreos and soymilk. I dream big. I have tons of ideas. I cry during touching ceremonies and awesome reception speeches. I try not to be messy but it happens. I have so many new faces to meet this year and just thinking about it makes me excited!
There is nothing better than a brand new baby! They smell amazing… make the cutest little noises… snuggle right up with you. Ahhh…. Cooper’s parents brought the pumpkin and hat to match along with some of the other props. I adore this session. I can’t wait to hang a couple of these in the studio.

Meet sweet little miss Berkley. The little princess did so amazing at her session… as well as her big sissy Hadley. Aren’t there names so modern and amazing? I think so! I’m curious why people name their kids the names those choose and their process! Their mommy and I had been talking through email for a while and I knew she was bring some of her own hates and cute things. I smile when I look at this session because it was such a nice hour spent!
I really LOVE meeting new people! It’s also so interesting hearing where people are from… and learning about so many different family’s in one year. This little guy was so good with all the different poses be made him do! His dad is an art teacher and it was awesome to have some input in the session. I like new ideas!
Sooo excited to post these pictures. Down below is Jessi-Jo’s maternity session… and I couldn’t wait to take Beau’s newborn pictures. I’m sure you will be seeing lots more of this little cutie pie on my blog! My baby is due in December and just seeing and holding Beau makes me over the moon. He’s an angel… he just needs to wake up so I can officially meet him. Everytime I get to see him he’s a sleepy head!
These two were such a pleasure to work with!! Their mom and dad were so super helpful…. these are some of my FAVORITE pictures!! I can’t wait to photograph them again.
