Look at this cute pie! She was giving me a run for my money when I was trying to get her to smile… I check my facebook the next day and her mommy said she was just FULL of smiles. Braylan and her would make great friends. haha. He hates the studio. We’ve already decided on a plan for her one year old session. Hadley Grace WILL smile for that one… I love getting to know people through my business. Alicia and Roger drive all the way from Cheboygan to have me take their pictures and I’m so happy they do! I even drove up there last week to take some pictures for the company they work for. It’s so fun to watch people babies grow and to learn about people! I LOVE the little outfit they got off esty! I’m thinking about doing a vendor spotlight on what to wear and where to find stuff…

Monday, March 5th, 2012My son has not been the biggest fan of snow. He likes to say, “snowwwwwwww” but when it comes to the cold stuff no way! We got him all dressed warm took him out and the second he got some on him he balled. So we waited a while and let him get used to the idea… took him out again a couple weeks later and still not a fan. We have a super hard time finding any type of footwear for him because he has a chubby wide big foot for a baby. He is now walking and someone suggested rainboots. We went and found some at a local store and they didn’t have his size… I try as much as possible to shop locally and I hope everyone else reading my blog does too. I could go on and on about that subject but I think we all know why it’s important. Long story short I had to order some online. We got them in last Friday and I had the bright idea to take him back out. It was before we got a the huge snow storm and the roads were bare. He loved it! Now I think it’s time to try again with actually playing in the snow and maybe he will keep his mittens on.

Monday, January 9th, 2012There are two sessions in this one post… as you will see the two different logos. A little about that. I know it’s terrible for branding my business changing my logo and I try to stop. I reallllly do! Outside of photography I’m a designer and have so many ideas that I love change. I get bored and want to throw something new in the mix.
I have done three sessions starting with maternity for Brittany. I have gotten to know her and her family and they are great! Our husband’s work at the same factory on different shifts/departments. I also enjoy now trying to do the same pose for multiple sessions to watch them grow.
Davey, Mommy & Daddy
Saturday, January 7th, 2012Yay! After all this time Ellen let me take a family pic along with Davey’s! This was the same day as we did the boys football pics out in my parents front yard in the leaves. Dave and Ellen have big rocks in their yard the we used… and we even got Morgan their pug in a couple. I love how smiley Davey is in these pics! OF COURSE I was acting crazy and using my silly tricks. It’s so fun to watch babies grow in pictures.

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011I am not a very good blog keeper! Some people ask me where the posts with my son are. I looked back and there is not very many. I am taking a mini vacation from the business Dec. 23rd-Jan. 6th. I’m going to be changing a little when I return! I’m also going to be posting lots of sessions from the last year of my clients.
This year my life totally changed! I’m happy to say it has been the best yet most challenging thing I have ever done. I have completely loved every second of motherhood. I was lucky enough to tough it out and be a stay at home mom AND fulltime photographer. Yeah I don’t know how I did it! I guess late nights turned into early morning editing. Every free moment returning calls, changing a diaper, emailing, feeding Braylan, placing orders, shooting, feeding myself, wedding… running around like a mad woman. I’m working on a plan for 2012 because it was very stressful…. but it all worked out in the end. My business took off this year and I guess I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was. I dreamed of this since day one of opening and it took me a while. I have a awesome mom who helps me SO much with Braylan when she isn’t working during the week. My husband works nights and he wakes up with the little guy when I have morning shoots. I tell ya! I know every mom thinks it of their own child but this little man is my world and is amazing. He has such a huge personality. His favorite thing is shopping! Not kidding… he doesn’t care much for products he just loves the attention people give him while he’s strolled around in the cart. Such a ham!! He just turned one and is fast as lightning crawling everywhere. He’s not walking yet and I’m in for it when he does because he’s very curious about EVERYTHING. He has always been a big boy and is in 2-3T clothing right now at 12 months. People usually can’t believe his age.
He says about 8 words right now on a regular basis and loves to play hide and seek.

Thursday, November 10th, 2011WARNING! HUGE POST.
Remember this awesome family? A couple years ago I had the pleasure of shooting their wedding. Look at how little Kate was!

Fast forward to this past Sept! Andrea asked me to meet them at Sleeping Bear Dunes and I’m glad I did. Not only did I get to meet their new addition Max but I got to lay eyes on probably the most beautiful places Michigan has to offer. I’ve been to Hawaii and Florida and this place seriously took my breath away! This family is so loving and fun I hope you can tell by the photos you are about to view. I am totally down next summer to meet some families back at this location… plus I’m thinking I need my family pics here.
