About The Photographer
Hi! My name is Erika Blackwell and I am the photographer of Center of Attention Photography. My business is located in Northern Michigan. My blog is a way for everyone to view some of my favorite images from recent sessions and get to know me! I am the VERY proud mommy to Braylan. I LOVE what I do and I hope you can tell! These are not JUST pictures I take. I create memories... My heart and soul go into my work. I care about my clients and get to know them and learn what they like and dislike. I am an artist. A business woman. I love to have fun. I love to sing. Dance. Make crazy sounds to get those smiles. I am very open! I LOVE oreos and soymilk. I dream big. I have tons of ideas. I cry during touching ceremonies and awesome reception speeches. I try not to be messy but it happens. I know I always say it… but it’s only because it’s TRUE… I love watching babies grow! I have been photographing this little man since he was in his mama’s belly. It’s the third session I have had with his parents and I have to say this one is my fave! We had to fight the wind and he did so great. Today his mom wrote she needs more wall space and it made my day. You probably can tell he loves to fly. 
Cute to boot! These girls and their mama rocked this session. The weather was warm, the girls were in great moods, their mom always dresses them in fabulous outfits and just look at them. I love pops of color, vintage and color tinting. My style has changed so much since I have started and I def. will keep uping my game.
I make wishes a lot for more time to work. Shooting, editing, emailing, calling, designing, prop hunting, burning CD’s, packaging, mailing, a rare blog or fb post… What I really need is more time to just kick it with my son in the yard on a warm evening. What can you do? I LOVE my job and the biggest thing is managing business and family. My in-home babysitter graduates from high school in 2 weeks and she will be watching my little man more so I think you will see more posts here. Oh yes. And a new website.
It’s been a week since we got back from our family vacation to Florida. We stayed in St. Pete Beach and the weather was great. We had our ups and downs with a sick one year old… but he did his best. Hopefully it’s a stage but you will see his face in the pictures… he hates the water! Ocean… pools… even the bath in St. Pete. Here is a couple pics I had a chance to edit. I will post more when I get a chance to go through them. I am catching up editing and designing some albums and shooting a few sessions this week.
