Hi! My name is Erika Blackwell and I am the photographer of Center of Attention Photography. My business is located in Northern Michigan. My blog is a way for everyone to view some of my favorite images from recent sessions and get to know me! I am the VERY proud mommy to Braylan. I LOVE what I do and I hope you can tell! These are not JUST pictures I take. I create memories... My heart and soul go into my work. I care about my clients and get to know them and learn what they like and dislike. I am an artist. A business woman. I love to have fun. I love to sing. Dance. Make crazy sounds to get those smiles. I am very open! I LOVE oreos and soymilk. I dream big. I have tons of ideas. I cry during touching ceremonies and awesome reception speeches. I try not to be messy but it happens. I can’t wait for her full session in the summer. She is graduating in 2014 and will be helping me to book her friends!
I wanted to show some different edits here. I like to play a little with color and lighting. 
I had a super great 2012! So many new faces along with clients I now call friends. I love my job… this isn’t even close to every shoot but I want to show a good amount of sessions/weddings from the last year. I hope to make 2013 even better!!

Ok when I say I had fun at this session… I’m not kidding! I hate being cold but it didn’t even bother me one bit. This family was cool with any idea I had. These kids are so VERY polite and funny. I hope to photograph them again some day.

So excited! My family, friends, facebook fans and people I’ve never met polled together and helped me win the 2013 Castle Farms Cover Photo Contest!! This image will be on the cover of the 2013 edition of the Wedding Planner (given to every Bride that reserves at Castle Farms) and the 2013 Grand Bridal Expo program. Yay!! Thank you times a million for every single person that voted, reposted and told their friends. I had a view people that really went above and beyond for me and it touches my heart more than they will ever know.
This is a little update post. We have had so many virus’ this winter! We almost get better and one of us wake up with something again. Hopefully this time we kick it for good. I have lots of updates and fun ideas to come!
In this post I have two little newborn boys. A lifestyle session at one my clients home. PLUS my bestfriends little guys. I love balloons lately. I saw this quote recently, “Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero.” ~Marc Brown It sparked the idea for their little superhero picture.

These are some friends of mine… I just love taking pictures of them. They are so fun, stylish, photogenic and loving. The kids did so great! When I was doing a parent pic Ambrielle kept wanting to join. I was cracking up!
I’ve been on a good role taking pictures of my little man this winter. I’m a little proud of myself. Last year he hated my camera so I would give up for periods of time. Today my sister and neice had an “ice day” from school so before my husband went to work we dropped by the studio. I’ve had this idea since last Valentine’s day. I had the kissing booth last year… this year I thought we would keep it clean and cute. Tomorrow I will post Elleana’s take.
